Rotary or Automatic Discharge with Patented MegaFlo™ Doors

AutoFlood III™, an outside stake, automatic discharge hopper car, is as rugged and versatile as the AutoFlood II™. FreightCar America now has a complete, well-rounded portfolio of aluminum hopper cars to address the various requirements of our customers.

The AutoFlood III can be bottom unloaded through automatic discharge doors or rotary unloaded. The car's 13-foot 3-inch side height increases loading flexibility at the mine.

The AutoFlood III ™ is equipped with the MegaFlo ™ door system. The MegaFlo system uses tension rather than compression to keep the doors locked over center. This translates into less wear and lower maintenance on the doors.

As with all FreightCar America aluminum freight cars, great emphasis has been placed on the design and manufacture of a car that provides its customers with an optimum balance of lightweight and high capacity. The addition of our patented high strength, Cold Rolled Center Sill (standard equipment on all AutoFlood cars) provides a combination of strength and light weight.
